There can be no denial that English is one such universal language that is spoken by nearly 30% of the world’s population of which 75% are non — native English speakers. When it comes to learning a new language, there are some big hindrances faced by most of them. Addressing and talking about these problems may help in overcoming them & coming with a rational solution.

In a non-native English country, the major problem lies when one bracket of the population speaks exceptional & fluent English whereas the other bracket is still wrestling to learn & speak English. This leads to the fear of being judged.

Fear of being judged is one such reason English learners obstruct their journey of learning English. Fear from the ones who speak fluent English or Fear of making mistakes while speaking in English. Making mistakes & learning from them is a part of mastering English fluency.

If native English speakers were made to learn your native language — that would not be easy for them either. Fluent speaking requires practice. And for practicing English daily, you need to stop hesitating. Hesitation to speak in English is a twin of fear of being judged. The result of one affects the latter one.

Your improvement graph is not sloping upwards because you are not speaking in English enough. This is the reason you do not have adequate words to express yourself at the time of speaking in English & you fumble.

Now, do you see how your fear ( root cause ) is bifurcating multiple branches of problems that are blocking the goal of learning the English language?

But it is not the end, people who wish to speak English fluently complain about not having a suitable environment or people around to practice English with. Just like you want to learn to swim, but you cannot swim without jumping in the deep water. The same happens when you learn a new language. You may memorize the rules thoroughly, but all the rules can be implemented only when you speak. This means that Just by learning grammar rules, you will not become a fluent English speaker.

Every effort that you make & every step that you take to improve your English. You will become a better version of yourself. Utilizing all the words that you have learned at the time of speaking, listening to more and more English content & reading books can help you improve English in a long run.
